Great stretch for Slocum

Jerry's Youngstown State ballclub has won 3 in a row in the Horizon League, the crown jewel coming last night over Wisconsin-Green Bay. W-GB was listed among "others receiving votes" in the most recent AP top 25 poll. Green Bay fell to 19-7 overall and 11-3 in the Horizon while the Penguins improved to 9-15 overall and 6-8 in the league. This puts YSU in 6th place in the conference which would give them a Horizon tourney home playoff game, which never happened in Youngstown before Jerry came on the scene.

Here's a link to Jerry's post-game press conference. As you would expect after a win, there are a few laughs:

I'm also told that Kim Slocum, Jerry's wife and most vociferous fan, underwent emergency surgery recently and is in the hospital. Her prognosis is excellent; please keep her in your prayers.

  1. That is great to hear about YSU. I hope they can continue it. I will keep Kim in my prayers, that's very unfortunate to hear about anyone :(
